Mornin’ Sunday!

How I love the feeling of waking up fresh on the weekend mornings. It makes the whole weekend feel so much longer and worthy. Yesterday Kiwi, mom, dad and I went up for a day trip to Stockholm. While Kiwi went off to see friends the rest of us met up with my brother for some Christmas Market hanging. We were not the only ones with that idea – the market was packed with both locals and tourists trying to get the most out of the sunny weather and the beautiful Christmas decorations that filled the old town. The sunny weather even allowed us to enjoy coffee and saffron buns outside (in november!!). Among other things we also visited Svenskt Tenn and I was happily surprised to see they have Fornasetti pieces in there. Of course they are very pricy and nothing for a student, but I love to look around at his playful pieces. For dinner we ate a Chinese and Mongolian buffet on Östermalm, and then we finished off the day at NK. They had not spared any expense on the Christmas decoration and I felt we all got in a very jolly Christmas mood.

Today I am going back up to Stockholm again for the Sweden International Horse Show with two of my oldest and dearest friends. The three of us have been growing up riding for the same horse back riding club and for several years we had our ponies in the same stable. We share lots of fun memories from those days and I am so thankful we are still part of each others lives. The train leaves in a couple of hours so I should start to get ready, but first I will snuggle down in bed for a few more minutes with my other half, who I believe are not feeling to fresh this morning since he was out last night and took the last train home from Stockholm. He looks like a defeated worrier laying in bed now –  my beautiful defeated warrior!

Love, Lisa

Monday

Hello and good morning! A new week is here and over in our home the music is already pumping even though it is not even seven yet. Reason – David is getting ready for the gym and I like to play DJ. I cannot get enough of Blame with Calvin Harris feat. John Newman.

The past weeks have been running on so fast. I have had the pleasure to spend time with David’s wonderful family. We had sunny and warm days both in Stockholm and here in Västerås. I was terribly bad at taking pictures when they were here – shame on me! Above is a funny one though on Julia and Kurt in action getting breakfast at my parents house.

School has been very hectic. At the moment we are studying equality and diversity management (very Swedish Dave thinks) and I find it so interesting! I could definitely see myself working with these kind of questions in the future.

As a result of the busy study days the sugar intake has been ridiculously high! Not good! But you know what, that’s what Mondays are for – new starts! I feel a healthier and better week is ahead! Now let’s gett this monday starting  – school books and fibre oat porridge coming up! xx

Monday is here and only one week left untill school starts again. I have one semester left in Uni, but only 10 weeks in school. The other 10 weeks I will be out on my internship. Last week I received the happy news that Länsförsäkringar, a national bank and insurance company, will take me on as an intern. I feel there is a fun and challenging time ahead!

Above are pictures from when my mum and I went out for an early chanterelle hunt. Unfortunately no chanterelle were found, but instead a whole bunch of old junk. My favourite was a very old tin that was marked “The United Chocolate Factories Stock Company”. So charming! xx

healthy breakfast

Goooood morning! Long time, no talk! I am sitting here on my chair in our “shoebox” mentally preparing myself for a day in school, a long day in school! I wish I could have start the day with the same C-vitamin boost as I did a few days ago (pics above), but today I will have to go with a quick porridge before heading off. I have London Grammar pumping out of the speakers, God I love them! You make sure to have a rockin’ Monday, and I will do the same! Kisses n’ hugs

Örebro’s cutest cafe is Lilla Anna’s Cafe, that is just around the corner from the church in the middle of downtown. David and I spent a couple of hours there today. It’s so great to sometimes actually sit down and have real and long conversations without a tv or a computer around to distract, well yes we used our phones, but just a tiny bit. Mostly we talked about our childhoods and things in our life that happened before we met. It was real quality time, just what we need with our loved ones every now and then, right? Christmasy saffron buns and hot coffee kept us warm where we sat while looking out on a quiet winter town. xx
