We are home again after a wonderful month in London, and I thought I would share with you a few places we have visited. The first one out is the bar and restaurant Oblix, located on the 32nd floor of The Shard by London Bridge (yes, it has quite a view). We spent an afternoon in Oblix’s lounge, and soon after arrival we felt, not only by the professional staff and amazingly well made cocktails, but also by the whole atmosphere, that this high-end venue has that something extra. The floor staff wore floral and colourful clothes while the ones behind the bar looked neat in their dressy shirts and leather aprons. We tried about nine (or maybe 12, I can’t remember) delicious cocktails, some of them were classic ones with a twist, while some of them very unique. The green one above in the rock glass contained, for example, their own homemade tequila. Each cocktail we tried also had a well thought off garnish, which I think is half of all the fun with cocktails. They are about £12.50 each, which could be thought of as a bit pricy, but at least you know that you will be served very good drinks, and also a view, a venue and service way above your regular after work bar.
If you decide to visit Oblix, just remember that guys need to wear dress shoes. Women get away with sandals, but sneakers are out of the pictures for both the ladies and the lads. Have a look at their home page here for more info, or here to get straight to the lounge bar. xx
